Update.

It has been so long since I have written anything in the blog. Pregnant is still going well. Defiantly getting larger, most of my clothes don't fit any more. I'm in week 22 now, so instead of counting up was are going to start counting down, so 18 weeks to go. Still have so much to organise. Spare room still needs emptying and painting. We have managed to get a second hand cot, door bouncer, bouncy seat, travel cot and a pushchair. I just wish we could get a move on with the spare room.
Col and Peter got married a few weeks ago. A lovely weekend, with a super band called the Hound dogs. Will put some pictures on in a bit. They went on Honeymoon to Cuba, it looks a nice place to visit. It was also nice to see people I haven't seen in ages Dave, Gray Ros.
We have managed to book a week away in half term. Going to Skye, should be lovely and quiet.

Cake.

Had a go at making a Barbie cake for Katies 25th Birthday. Was really impressed with the way it turn out, considering I was in a rush. It was meant to be a surprise but she noticed that there was a pair of Barbie legs on the table and guessed. Shame the cake was a bit heavy.

4 months today.

Well we have reach the 4 month stage. I have started to get a bump now and have brought some maternity clothes, which are dead comfy. In the book it says that baby should now begin to hear and react to light. John sometimes reads to him. Last night I was shining a bright torch at him to seem if I would feel him move. there wasn't any reaction, I think it is still too early. Also today played it some calming music though speakers, again no reaction. Think maybe I'm annoying it, I wouldn't like bright light and loud music being played if I'm trying to have a kip.
I have been very busy today, being creative. I will put a picture on next time as it is a surprise for someone.
School holidays are nearly over, which is good because I'm bored. I like working, and earning money. They messed up my pay this month, so that needs sorting out.
Right I'm being told to bring the washing in, so I have better go.

Here hoping the weather gets better.

We are off away for a few days on Saturday. It is Nick and Maryann's wedding. Looking forward to see everyone. It is always nice to get dressed up and have a boogie. The wedding is in Yorkshire and as it is a bit far away we are going to stop a night in a travel lodge, then have a few days camping. Should be good. Hopefully we will have a chance to go to York. I love York, it is a lovely city. Might need to pack a rain mac as it is chucking it down here.
Have Col and family coming round tonight we are meant to be going bowling. I haven't been for years. I hope they hurry up I'm hungry.
According to the Doc I'm 14 weeks on Friday and at last I have a bump, only a little one and I think most if it is podge. My nice jeans are considerably tighter now. I went into town yesterday and brought a few maternity clothes, some cheap tops and a pair of jeans. Will need some black trousers for when I go back to work in a few weeks. I don't want to buy too much stuff.

12 week and 5 days (apparently).

John and I have been to the hospital today for the first scan. I was very nervous about it. Worried that I would get there and I would be empty and they would think I have made it all up. But no. I am defiantly pregnant. There is was on the screen, arms waving around like it was trying to catch flies. He waved at John, then started to suck its thumb. We got some good pictures. I had bloods taken as well. That didn't got so good. I was very wobbly, got myself worked up and upset. It was a good job John was there. Made my feel ill as well. Next midwife appointment is in 3 weeks, which I need to book. Then next scan is on the 23rd Sept.
We were also given a new due date. The 10th of August. It is going to be a busy week, as Col is due on the 8th.

11 weeks (nearly)

It won't be long before I will up load these posts I have been writing. All close family and friends now know. Just waiting until my scan on the 3rd and then everyone else will find out. Still no sign of a bump. Itching to buy things for him. There is a lovely moses basket on Ebay, and I keep looking at cots and pushchairs on there too. Will have to sit tight a little longer. I'm still sanding down dorrs at the moment. I wish I hadn't started. They need to be finished and painted by the 14th Aug because that is when we get the new carpets in. I still have a door and half to go and the cupboards to do. John is helping me. Then when that is done we are going to start on the spare room and paint it ready for Feb.

9 Weeks.

Have been busy this week. Have started to tell people about the pregnancy. Went to Holly's on Wednesday and had tea with her. Told her. This week I'm going to tell Vicky. Today it is the turn of John's Mum, so we are off to Lincoln in a moment. Tomorrow after school we are going to see John's Dad to tell them know. Also need to tell Nick and Ros.
I seem to feeling better and fancying food now. I was hungry yesterday for the first time in weeks. John is still doing a super job of looking after me. He has booked a trip on a boat with a meal for Tuesday. He has also started to clear out the shed in the garden so we have more room to put stuff in.
I have my first really panic yesterday morning. I have had a really bad headache for the last couple of days. For my birthday Col got my a tiara making course in Grantham. I was feeling so poorly and rotten that I completely broke down. Then everything came out, the spare room, decorating, money, job and panic set in. It took lots of tissues and reassurance before I got going again. Anyway, I went to the class and it was super, I made 2 lovely tiaras.
I have also gone off chocolate. got masses for my birthday and don't seem to fancy any at the moment.
Went to the midwife, got myself all worked up about the blood draining. Only for her to say that it will be done in the hospital on the scan visit. The appointment was just filling out forms. The Scan appointment is on the 3rd August, I will be 12 weeks by then.

Saturday Surprises.

Saturday was a very odd day. Got a call from Col asking if she could come round for a coffee. As soon as she popped in and sat on the sofa she burst out saying 'I'm pregnant!'
Arse, well I couldn't be out done by the younger sis so I told her I was pregnant as well. Katie then arrives. She already knew about Col. So I told her my news and she didn't believe me and thought I was winding her up. Turns out Col is around 2 months as well, thought she doesn't know precise dates yet and won't until her scan. She also has an appointment with the midwife on Friday at 10:00, mine is at 9:00. She will also have the baby at Pilgrim hospital. I'm 2 months last Monday. She bang goes John and I not telling everyone till 12 weeks. Discussed it with John and thought we might as well tell everyone else.
Went round to Mums first and told her, then Dad, and from there rang Janet. Then nipped in to Grandmas. I very busy and unexpected day. Since then I have told Lou and I'm off to Hols tomorrow to tell her. Then on Sunday to Johns mum and on Monday evening Johns dad. Looking forward to people pampering me now they know, thought I will have to share it with Col.
At the moment baby is around 2.2cms and looks like a large cashew nut. Still not feeling sick, but neither is Col and Mum said she wasn't that sick when she has us, so maybe it runs in the family. Still feeling tired a great deal. I don't help myself by going to bed at a decent time. Anyway. I won't be long now until these posts are published, not that most people know.

Week 7

I can't believe I'm 7 weeks pregnant. I don't know whether it is because I expecting and therefore notice it more, but everyone seems to talking babies, in telly, at work and family. Very odd.
Still no morning sickness, I know I should think it a blessing but it would be nice to have some so I know he is OK.
I am so tired and exhausted all the time. I wake up and I'm still tired, I get home from work and need to go straight to bed to recover. Headaches seem to have stopped this might be because I am trying to drink lots more water.
John say that baby is going to look like me but have his intelligence, does this mean he thinks I'm thick?

Birthday Bash part 2.

Turns out not drinking didn't spoil my night at all. In fact I meant I remember everything and felt ok in the morning while other were being rather sick. I had a wicked time, though I can't help thinking that next years birthday I will be in a very different situation.

Birthday Bash

Last night was my big 30 birthday bash. BBQ with friend and family and Dad's house. Think about 40 people were there. Loved it. It was ace. Very chilled. Holly brought her fire pit. So sat round until 3:30am talking, then camped in the garden. Morning was lots of bacon buttys, cake and water. Most random part of the night. Katie not sleeping in the table but outside in a hammock. Most drunk person award goes to Holly, as does the most hungover.
Very tired now even though I've had an afternoon nap. Also have red legs.

First Doctor appointment.

Really nervous about it. I have been in school all day, so had to rush home, then rush out again. Probably for the best as I didn't have long to think about it. John finished work early to come with me, he is going to come to them all. The Doctor was lovely, very young and friendly. He had a young family and was telling us what happened to his wife. Went through the dos and don'ts, I had already read about most of it. He was very congratulatory, which was lovely because we haven't told anyone yet.
The only question we had was that I have been suffering for migraines and I didn't know what medication to take. The only think that works is a cold compress and a dark room and try to sleep through it. Still haven't got morning sickness yet. I have lost my appetite, which is a pain for John as he doesn't get fed. Then all of a sudden it comes back and I need a certain food, normal something dry.
We have also booked in an appointment at the midwife. It is on the 9th July. It will be the blood tests. Explained to the doctor that I don't really do needles and he said that if I have any problems to see him and he would take the blood.
So we are all happy. It is nice to know that Bean Baby is acutely there and I haven't just made him up. Scan will be in week 11 or 12. Can't wait to see him and make it seem all real. Will also give us something to some people when we tell them.

Week 6

Hurray.
We are into week 6. Month and half pregnant. This week have finally got the Doctors appointment on Thursday. Looking forward to someone confirming I am pregnant, because even though I feel tired and a little bit sick, there has been not other symptoms. The weekend away was interesting. Was all the time thinking that Dad would realise that I wasn't drinking and guess why. Still have an urge to tell everyone. Still only 6 weeks to go.
Have my birthday to get through next. That should be easy because everyone is drinking and therefore won't notice that I'm not.
Colleen and Katie keeps on about wanting to go to Pleasure Island for a day trip. Again I won't be able to go on the big rough rides. Colleen wants to book her hen party and go to Go Ape, which I won't be able to do. Rubbish.
I ate scampi today by mistake. I knew it was scampi, but I always thought scampi was fish. Whoops. John was eating melted Camembert yesterday. I also have to change my menu for Colleen's wedding.
But apart from me moaning about all the things I can't do or eat. I'm still excited and fascinated about it all. The baby is now the size of a large bean, around 1.2cm. We have already decided not to find out what sex it is. I'm starting to say name ideas to John. The decision is that he chooses the boys name and I get to choose the girls but we both have to agree. I have 2 that stand out already but I'm not telling just yet.

Week 5

Week 5 and I think everything is OK. I haven't got an appointment with the Doctor until next week. Apparently this is the worst week for a miscarriage. Fingers crossed. Started reading the pregnancy book at the back. It got to scary and gory, so I'm just going to read one week in front at the moment. One step at a time.
Katie was round on Saturday, she brought loads of wine. I brought grape juice and fizzy pink stuff. Me and John swapped glasses. Katie mentioned the fact the wine looked different. Good job she put lemonade in hers. She also keeps patting my belly, says she can feel it kicking. Little does she know. She also brought up the conversation at Dads about how he would never have Grandchildren. Hee Hee.
Have worked out baby should be due on the 17th Feb 2011. Only 7 weeks till I can share the news. Not sure how to do it yet.

Sam

PS. Have gone off coffee can't seem to stand the smell and now drinking tea. Also finding it difficult at the moment to cut out caffeine. Feeling tired as well but that is probably due to work for the last 2 weeks.

OMG

Found out 2 days ago I'm pregnant. We're really pleased about it, though I think it still hasn't sunk in yet. John seems calmer then me. I'm in a tizz. Have gone and bought a baby book and folic acid. Also have booked a doctors appointment which is on the 24th June. I have learnt that the baby is the size and shape of a grain of rice and that is has already started to develop a spine and brain. Already panicking about not being able get in and out of the bath, but the biggest fear is BLOOD TESTS.

The most difficult thing is not to race round telling everyone our news. I was never any good at secrets. We have to wait until 12 weeks. At the moment I'm 4 weeks and 5 days, so there is a long way to go.

I have also realised that I won't be about to drink of 9 months. The last glass of wine I have was really nasty, I wish I had known it was going to be my last because I would have drank something good. Tonight I have Katie round. She has just lost her job in Brighton and is going round to get to drown her sorrows with me. So John and I have come up with a plan, the same plan with be enforced on my birthday BBQ. We are going to stock up on Shloer and grape juice. John is going to pretend to drink it, I will pretend to drink wine and we are going to do a sneaky swap. hopefully Katie will be a few glasses ahead of me to realise.

Birthday plans.

www.folksy.com/shops/sjjewellery

Hi.
It is going to be a busy week, as I am in school for the next 2 weeks. Forgotten what it is like planning and marking when I get home, instead of feet up, watching telly. Though it all seems to be coming back to me pretty fast.
Birthday plans are starting to come together. Booze stocks are building and invites are nearly all out (sorry if I forgot you).

Slaves.

Hi.
I know it is really bad but I have starter to employ slaves to help me make my jewellery. At the moment I have 2, known as Linda (mum) and Col (sister). They are very cheap and last night Col even brought tea for us.
I'm in a bit of a panic, I have a show on Sunday at Louth and at the last show I sold quite a lot of things. this leave me worry I won't have enough stock. So Col very kindly offered to help. She like threading things, so she made lots of lovely memory bracelets. I made a few pieces to. The one above is one of hers. Pretty. Going to do a few more today. Hopefully the postman will arrive with lots of beads for me.

Car insurance.

www.folksy.com/shops/sjjewellery

Hi.
My car insurance is due in a few days. Every year I have to mess around to find a new insurer because the old one keep putting the price up. I have had a go 3rd party because it is so much cheaper. It means I won't be able to drive other people cars, which I like doing.
Sorry, moan over.
I has been a beautiful few days here is sunny Boston. I managed to get a little bit burnt yesterday. Must remember to buy some sun cream. Was in the garden making some jewellery. I just forgot how long I was out there. Lastest make is in the picture above.
Business cards arrived today, very exciting. Though there is a mistake on them, but John didn't notice so hopefully nobody else will. They have arrive just in time as I have a show on Sunday. Louth classic car and country show.

Hurray
I've sold something at last. Thanks to Dreamaid.
Dreamaid is a where people can put they wares to sell, so I did. Tonight it was featured on BBC 2 programme with Theo from Dragons Den. As a result I've had 7 sales. So cool. By glancing at the chat forums it looks as if lots of people have done well.
Just putting a few more things on for tomorrow then to bed.
Can't stop grinning.

Just got in from work. Was hoping for a bit of a lie in today. Was meant to be at work just this afternoon, but at 7.50 got a call from the school asking if I could do the morning as well. Which was fine, except I was still bed. Had to run round like a loony to get ready.
My birthday is more or less sorted out. It is the big 30 this June. Going to have a BBQ/camp/party at my Dads. Just need to sent the invite out. x

Lazy Sunday.

These kits were Johns item, thought I would start by making earring first and see how it goes. I have printed up some instructions and they have enough beads in them to make 2 pairs, with extra so people can make their own designs.

Was going to do some more jewellery making today, but yesterday I went and brought the wrong wire. So going to the garden centre instead. John has this thing at the moment about fruit bushes so it growing them in little pots around the garden and he wants another one. Me I just like going to a ride out and a coffee (we don't have any in the house at the moment ran out). Might nip to Dad and Grandma's as it is near by.
Did ok at the car boot yesterday, though not as good as the first time round. Was pleased as I sold 3 items of jewellery. Though I did manage to brake my display unit. I have posted some more of my stuff on Folksy.

Vivien Holloway

I have been after a Vivien Holloway dress for ages. Been searching on Ebay but they are really expensive. Found this one today and got it. I only hope it fits. It isn't quite the colour or fabric I was after, but never mind, if it is rubbish I can always resell it.

Jewellery and tyres.

It is going to be a rather expensive week for me this week. I needed 3 new tyres and my MOT is due. But on the plus side I have my first proper fete this weekend on Saturday. It is nothing to do with craft shows, but a local high school fete. I'm hoping there will be no other jewellery stalls just me. I'm also trying out different thing. Because I can have a gazebo, it means I have more space. So have been experimenting with candles and lucky dips and make your own earrings. Hopefully will make a bit of money, not sure it will cover the cost of tyres and MOT though.
Also trying to think of some idea what to do for my birthday. It is my big 30 and want it to be special. I would like to go camping. Though not sure whether to do campsite with swimming pool or back to natural campsite. Oddly they both cost the same amount.

Brown and orange glass bracelet

Just been for a night out in Spalding. First time I have been to a club and felt old.
Easter is here and the school have broken up giving me 2 weeks off. I have a plan, going to make a list of all the things I need to do over the hols.

Take photos of jewellery and list them
Weed garden
Plant new flowers in garden
Wash up
Tidy up house
Get all the washing caught up
Make jewellery
Stop spending money on ebay
Make cushions for sofa
Get a list of dates to do shows

Wonder how many I will get done?

New earring make.

I have started to set up a shop through the folksy website. It costs 20p to put items in your own little shop. I only have two, as I was hoping the sun would be shining today so I could take some photo of my jewellery without the flash. Never mind. Will see if this is a better way of selling things, craft show don't seem to be working.

I have found a new talent.

pink zebra cake
pink zebra stripe cake
After the disaster that was the carrot cake, I decided to make a sponge, which turn out beautifully. Next came the decoration. Inspired by the cakes I saw at the wedding show and the fact that thought it didn't look that hard I decided to have a go. I found a super, thought really painfully slow, you tube video to show how to do the zebra print step by step. Icing the cake white was surprisingly easy. Roll it out, bung it on, smooth it down. Wasn't too concerned about bumps and blemishes because I could cover them. Getting the icing pink was a nightmare. It didn't seem to matter how much pink colouring I put into it, it was remain a pale pink, I wanted fushia. Gave up in the end, added a bit of red which seemed to brighten it up. If i do it again I will buy the icing already coloured.
With a pizza cutter in hand we, me and Katie, made the stripes. I have to admit Katie was more efficient at this than me, so I left her to it, and I stuck them to the cake.
Put some huge feathers it and there you go. Really please with it.

Sam.

Cake mistake.

Hi

Having been inspired by the sensational cakes from the wedding show, and me thinking I can do that, is having a shot at making a birthday cake for two friends (1 cake they can share). For something a bit different I decided to do a carrot cake, I thought it might be easier to ice. Got stuck in this afternoon. The cake is meant to take 45 minutes in the oven. Took it out and it was still wobbly, so bunged it back in again. 10min late another look, still a bit wobbly gave it a prod, it was still sticking to the knife, in it goes again. This happened until it had been in for 1 hour 15mins. Blow this I thought, maybe it will it is meant to be a bit wet and will carry on cook as it cools. So I take it out and sit down for a coffee. Went back 15mins late the whole thing had sunk it half it's size with a big crater in the middle. Sod this. Plan B I'm going to serve the carrot cake with so much cream cheese topping on that they won't notice. I had also made a sponge and put it in the oven. Fingers crossed it will turn out beautifully. If it doesn't I will buy a blinking cake.

The collapsed carrot cake.

Spring.

At last spring seems to have arrived. We have snowdrops in the garden, and the crocus are starting to open. The birds are singing and it is defiantly getting lighter in the evening. I have even been into the garden today to drag out some of the dead rubbish from last year. Though we only have 1 bin so I can't do to much and it is too wet to burn. Think I might have got a bit chopping crazy with the hydrangea, it might not make it. If it does I might have have a go at changing the colour of the flowers. Apparently if you put iron near the root the rust from it turns the flower from blue to pink.

Well that was a waste of time!

Went to Wainfleet Craft fair on Friday, boy was it a waste of time. I made a grand total of -50p. Was really looking forward to it. I had made a load of new stands, using a template I found of the internet, and a new layout. The stand looked so much better than it normally does. I also priced everything up individually this time. But no I sold 1 thing. The red heart necklace (there is a pic of it on my blog somewhere). It was one the most expensive necklace on the stall at £6. There was no one there. I think about in total 30 people looked round from 10 - 3.30. I could have given everything away free and I would have had a full table. This is the 3rd time I have tried Wainfleet I don't think I will be doing it again.

A new make.

Hi.

I got these chunky beads from beads direct, there were in the sale, I wasn't sure what to do with them. Started with a bracelet. I'm hoping to make a necklace, but I need to learn how to use cord. Also trying to photograph them better. Took me ages, going to have to find a quicker way. Hopefully going to Wainfleet craft fair this Saturday, need to make a bit of money to make up for all the beads I'm buying.

Yay it's the weekend.

Only 1 week till half term, a week off lovely. Found out today that my mobile isn't working. I can sent calls and texts but can't receive them. I've lost work because of this and the local school I'm in for probably thinking I'm ignoring them. Whoops.
Going to the local pub tonight, only lived in the area two years, should have really checked it out by now. It looks a bit of a dive but tonight is Karaoke. So bring it on. I need a few little drinkys to get me going first, before I embarrass myself by singing dreadfully out of tune and thinking I'm the next Dusty Springfield.

The List!!

Hi.

John has had this idea that we make a list each, containing 5 different things we want to do over the course of this year, and depending on money and time, see how many we can achieve. the only problem is that things I would like to do are quite expensive and are mainly places to go on holiday. I am also stuck because the limit is 5 and I would like to do loads more. It also might lead to arguments as to who get to do theirs first and if one does more than the other. John want to walk a hill, I want to have a beach holiday somewhere, ANYWHERE, abroad. Will go away and think about the what to put on down and let you know. Holiday on the North coast of Scotland, just me, John, an open fire and loads of books would be lovely.

The Legs better.

Hi
Well I'm walking again, all but slowly and slightly painfully, on two legs. Hurrah. So back at work, not so good. Having a skin dig this weekend with friends. Going to have a murder mystery party on Saturday. I'm the grieving daughter, I'm after one of those hats with the black netting that comes down in front of my face. Going to raid the charity shops tomorrow evening. Also going to make some super lush cocktails. My Christmas present from mum was lots of fab booze and cocktail stuff. Lovely. Big disappointment a gorgeous handbag my sister got my for Christmas has a hole it. Gutted especially as it was from Next.

Hi.
I've tried to take some better photos this time. There are defiantly better than the last ones, but still not great. The colour all seems to be lost. Any ideas?? I have turned the flash off my camera and this helped, also made a simple stand out of paper. What do you think?

Quite girly and old fashioned and elegant looking. Pale pink and neutral colours.

Long chain charm necklace, big and bold. Will look good against a black top.

Lazy Sunday.

Hi.
I'm still limping around. Going to make some more Jewellery today. Made loads for Christmas presents for people, I'm just hoping that they don't all fall apart otherwise they know who to blame. I have also re-read all of my odd blog post and I'm surprised to find what a moaner I am. I always thought I was a cheerful people, perhaps not. I started off in 2006 and it was quite funny, than as time went on I've justed it as a place to rant. How sad. Look what I'm doing now I'm ranting about how much of a moaner I am. Going to try and change that this year.

Did you know that the patron saint of England up until 1600 was Edward the Confessor (first built Westminster abbey) but the Tudors changed it to George, who wasn't even English. I'm learning about Kings and Queens for a topic I have to teach. It is really interesting. Going to do the Battle of Hasting on Wednesday and made a version of the Bayeux Tapestry. How cool is that?

Will put photos of the jewellery up again when it is made. Was buying more beads yesterday I really am going to have to stop myself.

Jewellery.

Hi.
As said these are some of the pieces I have created. I haven't been doing it for very long. I know the photos are no the greatest, they don't do the colours justice. Katie (sister) is going to help my with the photos.
If anyone has any ideas of things to make, or helpful website, or good places where to get beads, I would love to know. They are also for sell, if anyone is interested.

This in one of my favourites. Gorgeous and really girly.

I am not to sure about this Jade and silver combo, maybe to plain?

I love the colours in this one, the green/teal is beautiful and works well with the smoky grey.

I have hurt my leg.

Hi.

Somehow I've managed to hurt my leg by walking WALKING!!! Ping.
Feels a little better today, but I was in lots of pain yesterday. I was at school and we were walking down to the local church to see some drumming went the me calf went odd and all of a sudden I was in lots of pain. Managed to walk the rest of the way to the church, thought if I rested it I would be ok to walk back WRONG!!. I was asked to do some drumming but found I couldn't stand up. Cried in front of all the children, and the head had to pick me up from the church and take me back to school. How pathetic? Didn't want to cause too much hassle so finished teaching by limping around the classroom and moving from chair to chair (not easy when the chairs are built for tiny people). I also had to ring my Dad to come and get me because I couldn't drive home. Spent today limping round. Though I have managed to make some more pretty jewellery.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Hi.
I have decided to start blogging again. I haven't done this for 6 months. I hope I remember how to do it.
Will update you on my absence 6 months. Still doing supply teaching and loving it. I have started a new hobby, have been doing it since June, which is why I have not been blogging. Jewellery making. Loving it. Normally when I start something like this, it is a craze that last 10 weeks, I buy all the stuff and then get bored. For example Wine making, pottery painting, making juggling balls, and sewing.
Will post some pictures up of the pretty things I have been making. I think it also helps that I have tried to sell a few things at craft shows. I make just enough to cover cost and to buy a few more beads.
What else..... oh my sister is getting married later this year. So big party.
I'm turning 30. OMG.

Bye for now.
