Go Go Go Garden

Our garden is not the biggest. The back is mostly lawn and patio, with a 2 foot raised flower bed running along 2 sides of the lawn. Last year I let it just grow curious to see what would come up. This year I've have a bit of a bliz. Up came the old straggly lavender and random shrub which seemed to house a huge ant nest. Into the back bed went some lovely perennials, delphinium, lupin, and lillies. The part running down the side we have left to mud. Why? Because I have a dirt loving son who likes nothing but dig, fill buckets with mud and water and generally make a mess. His current love us making cement using said mud and water, sticking in his trailer, driving over the patio where he has 6 bricks, then proceeds to use his cement to build a wall. Despite my wanting a beautiful floral garden, I can not deprived him of his delight of making a complete mess.
This calls for a plan. This year I'm trying to grow veg in pots. I love the idea of eating things we have grown ourselves. Last years herbs were great and well used, so this I'm extending out production.
The initial outlay is quite expensive, though thanks to mum we do have a few plants to start with. We have courgettes, pumpkin, tomatos, lettuce, radishes,  beetroot,  green beans, runner beans and peas. Hopefully we will have a bumper crop. The picture isn't while it is at its neatest.

DIY wooden play house.

A few months ago we purchased a wooden play house from Ebay.

After a few months of stating at it through the window, I have finally made a start on jazzing it up. This is the progress so far. A few more layer of paint, some bunting, a new window and some curtains and it will look fab. James is already enjoying playing in it.

HOT HOT HOT

Gosh it is hot. I love this kind of weather. Going to go in the garden in a minute after I've uploaded some photos on to facebook. James is asleep so I'm going to make the most of it and have a cup of tea and finish the book I'm reading.
Have been busy today. I have...

Made a new pendant (though it was in the microwave for slightly too long and it now the best I have done).

Washed up.

Teaked the garden furniture.

Nearly unpacked the suitcase from the weekend.

Hoed the front garden.

Busy Busy.

Spring.

At last spring seems to have arrived. We have snowdrops in the garden, and the crocus are starting to open. The birds are singing and it is defiantly getting lighter in the evening. I have even been into the garden today to drag out some of the dead rubbish from last year. Though we only have 1 bin so I can't do to much and it is too wet to burn. Think I might have got a bit chopping crazy with the hydrangea, it might not make it. If it does I might have have a go at changing the colour of the flowers. Apparently if you put iron near the root the rust from it turns the flower from blue to pink.

Pictures

Hi.

Hopefully I'm going to go to the picture tonight, to see 27 dresses. John doesn't really want to go so I might have to go on my own, a bit Norman no mates but never mind.

I been planting seeds. Lettuces and flowers, hope I have mixed them up.

Gardening.

Hi

I've go the gardening bug. Have just been brought a hoe and really big scissor things. Started to clear the rubbish from the garden, realised that there are loads of prickly stuff so I have to go back into town and buy some gloves.

I'm pretty rubbish because I've cleared about a foot and bored now and watching trash tv.

Also planted about 4 bulbs.
