Wonderful Wedding

Last Friday, we donned our glad rags for a family wedding. I think the excitment was a bit too much for James. He didn't sleep very well the night before and woke up too early in the morning. He was desperate to wear his suit, waistcoat, new shoes and look smart. Penny had a peach dress and looked cute as a picture. John scrubbed up nicely and I managed to find a new dress, which I felt good in.

The service was beautiful. The bride looked stunning and James behaved himself. We had images of him shouting out things, but John let him play with his camera to entertain him. While the photos were happening James and the other kids and a few adfults gorged themselves on the sweeties pick and mix bar. This was our downfall.

Bearing in mind that Penny has been ill for the last few days so it could have been a bug, but more than likely the pick and mix. Our child managed to throw up all down the table and John at dinner. Thankfully everyone at the table was really good about it. John dashed away to our room with James. I cleaned up the best I could and wolfed down my dinner before going to swap over with John. It was a good job we had a room to change and shower in. Quick change for both of them and we went back to the party. It could have been worst, he could have been ill on the bride.

The rest of the evening was great. We drank far too much and danced until my feet ached. Even John danced. James enjoyed running round with the other children. Penny had loads of cuddles from everyone.

For me one of the nicest parts was the morning after (despite feel rough). We all had breakfast together round a huge table. It was a lovely way to end a beautiful few days.

Fashion Rut

On Friday we are going to a wedding. I love weddings. Weddings are a time to catch up with family you never see as often as you like, to get a little tipsy, to dance to cheesy music and to get dressed up. However, this wedding has brought with it the panic of 'what to wear.'

I have never been or ever had the inclination of wanting to be fashionable. Pre-children I was fairly confident in my clothing choice. I knew (apart from the odd faux pas) what suited me and tended to stick with it. Unfortunately, after spending 3 years either being pregnant or breastfeeding, I am suffering a fashion meltdown and I am not longer confident in what I wear or how I look. Yes, my body has altered since having children but that isn't the issue. The problem is that I just don't know whether something suits me or not any more. As a result I tend to stick to all favourites, which probably have seen better days. I now  find clothes shopping a chore and often end up buying the same top/trousers/shoes in a slightly different colour. I have a tendency to buy clothes at the same time I do my supermarket shop. I need to get out of this rut but not sure how.

I have brought a new dress (see picture) for the wedding, along with a shrug, belt and gorgeous new shoes, which I can't walk in. I tried it on altogether this morning. John says I look lovely, but I'm not convinced. Is the belt too blingy? Is red the wrong colour for a wedding? Do red and navy go together? Is my dress a bit frumpy? I think I might just sit in the corner and drink until I don't care what I look like.

Here hoping the weather gets better.

We are off away for a few days on Saturday. It is Nick and Maryann's wedding. Looking forward to see everyone. It is always nice to get dressed up and have a boogie. The wedding is in Yorkshire and as it is a bit far away we are going to stop a night in a travel lodge, then have a few days camping. Should be good. Hopefully we will have a chance to go to York. I love York, it is a lovely city. Might need to pack a rain mac as it is chucking it down here.
Have Col and family coming round tonight we are meant to be going bowling. I haven't been for years. I hope they hurry up I'm hungry.
According to the Doc I'm 14 weeks on Friday and at last I have a bump, only a little one and I think most if it is podge. My nice jeans are considerably tighter now. I went into town yesterday and brought a few maternity clothes, some cheap tops and a pair of jeans. Will need some black trousers for when I go back to work in a few weeks. I don't want to buy too much stuff.

Week 6

Hurray.
We are into week 6. Month and half pregnant. This week have finally got the Doctors appointment on Thursday. Looking forward to someone confirming I am pregnant, because even though I feel tired and a little bit sick, there has been not other symptoms. The weekend away was interesting. Was all the time thinking that Dad would realise that I wasn't drinking and guess why. Still have an urge to tell everyone. Still only 6 weeks to go.
Have my birthday to get through next. That should be easy because everyone is drinking and therefore won't notice that I'm not.
Colleen and Katie keeps on about wanting to go to Pleasure Island for a day trip. Again I won't be able to go on the big rough rides. Colleen wants to book her hen party and go to Go Ape, which I won't be able to do. Rubbish.
I ate scampi today by mistake. I knew it was scampi, but I always thought scampi was fish. Whoops. John was eating melted Camembert yesterday. I also have to change my menu for Colleen's wedding.
But apart from me moaning about all the things I can't do or eat. I'm still excited and fascinated about it all. The baby is now the size of a large bean, around 1.2cm. We have already decided not to find out what sex it is. I'm starting to say name ideas to John. The decision is that he chooses the boys name and I get to choose the girls but we both have to agree. I have 2 that stand out already but I'm not telling just yet.

Bloody diet.

I'm on a diet. Been on it since Sunday. Stuggling because I'm bored and when I'm bored I eat. So instead of eating I've started cooking, but then I want to lick the mix, and eat the results. HELP. Got brownies in the oven at the moment. I really should do some work, but I can't be bothered. I want to look super for summer and Hollys wedding. I've been trying on strapless dresses, but they don;t suit me because I'm fat and have fat arms. Think I'm driving John batty because I record everything I eat (weighwatchers). Now I can smell brownies, I added extra chocolate in them. Plus all week I've been wanting a pint, a cool, sweet, lovely pint. Bugger I'm crap at this. Going to eat a rice cracker. Bye.

Happy Birthday to me.

Hi.
It was my birthday on Friday. Had a lovely day. Had to work in the afternoon but in the evening I went to a scout fete with Col, John, Peter and Katie it had a disco so did some dancing. Got lots of cool prezzies including a pottery painting set, the digital photo frame with changes my photo every 10 seconds, a trip to the hair dressers which it what I really needed my hair is crazy at the moment, socks, BBC drama collection and cool cups and biscuit tin ready for when I move out. So lots of really lovely things.
Yesterday Col, Vic and I went to the pottery in Boston and painted pots. I painted a heart shaped cake plate pink with muffins on it. Col painted a condiments plate loads of crazy colours and dots. Vic did a trinket box and did shading for one colour to another. Then in the evening we went to a 25th wedding party and danced some more.
Have been playing with my presents this morning have painted a pot and put some more photos on the photo frame. Also set up my punch bowl.

Hi.
I went to a really nice wedding yesterday. Really enjoyed myself. I danced and drank the night away.
I brought a suit for the interviews I've got. It is only from Asda, but it looks good on. I would normally wear trousers, but they didn't have any my size so I got the skirt. The whole lot only cost £20.
Katie has just started a job at Next. I wonder if family get discount there?
Going away this weekend to a place called Brandy Wharf. Is sells lots of different ciders. Going to spend the day there, then go into town at night. Should be a good weekend.
Have to go now.

Post office Hell.

Hi.

I have just got back from wedding it was different, the bride didn't look to happy or pleased or in fact talked to anyone there.

At the moment I'm having trouble with the English postal system. They have changed it and it is confussing me. I don't see what was wrong with the old system of weighing things and posting them. Now it has to go by size as well!!!!

My sister has just gone to uni (See picture above, she the one on the right wearing the neaklace) and I thought it would be nice to keep in contact the old fashioned way and write letters. I keep senting her little gifts to surprise her. Evert time I send something I have to go to the post office and weigh it and sometime it cost more to send things than what the item costs. Crazy system. Oh and if you have a large envelope and fold it over it is then classified as a parcels and cost twice as more to send.

Any how she seems to be having a good time. You can always check out her website. http://kate-ohmy.blogspot.com/ Please leave a comment and she dosen't think anyone is visiting her. Be nice though.

Hi.
Thank you for the comments I have received. It is lovely to click on the site and find someone has left a comment. It is nearly as good as getting post.

I have had a really nice day today. Sent off my application form for the year 4 teaching job and for the supply agency. Hopefully will hear from them soon.

I went to bingo last night with my Nan and a friend, won a huge box of chocolate, going to have a girly night in sometime this week so will save them for then. Going to pamper ourselves and have some wine and watch cheesy feel good films.

Going to a wedding on Saturday, some family that I don't really know. I am one of these people who really like weddings. I like the cheesy music and the dancing and the food and meeting people who I haven't seen in ages. It should be good.

See you soon
