Easter Weekend Saturday
Decided to head out for the day. Was going to Sandringham but the weather wasn't great so went to Hunstanton with the intention that if the weather got really bad we would go to the sea life centre. I think everyone else had the same idea. It cool at the front, we went round the amusements, James had a go on a helicopter ride. He had a little walk round with his new shoes. After a bite to eat we headed to Wells. James got a cat teddy, John was asking him to choose between 2, James wanted both. A nice day. We are all very tired, so hoping James will have a lie in tomorrow morning. Tomorrow we are going to make Chocolate rice crispy cakes and going on an Easter egg hunt to Col's.

Easter Weekend
Have just been into town to get James his first pair of shoes. Up until now he has been tottering round in a leather pair which are really thin. Got him measured in Oldrids he is 4 1/2 G, which is quite wide. He was very good and behaved himself. They didn't have the right fit. So we tried Clarks and got a pair from there. £16!! how expensive for a pair of shoes which will last about 8 weeks. Now I know what size he is we are going to get a cheaper pair from somewhere to use as a dirty pair and a pair for best.
James likes rough and tumble. Today, as John was cleaning the mat James kept toddling over to him and throwing himself on to Daddy's back with a roar. John then tickled him. He loves it, I just wish he won't do the same thing to Marley as he knocks him over and lays on top of him. James giggling, Marley moaning. x

James
James is obsessed with cats. Point to dog in the street calling it a cat. Lion on the telly, cat. Tiger on telly, cat. Everything is a cat, unless it is a light then we have La. John found some clips of cat and you tube and James spent ages watching them and giggling. Going to see if I can find a cat teddy for him for Easter and a prize at the end of his Easter egg hunt.He is a bit of a daredevil.

Weekend.
Have been away this weekend, leaving my family and swanning off to Manchester for the weekend. I had a really nice time. Went with Hol and met up with Shel and Marco. We went to the dogs on Saturday night, got a good deal by getting in free, pie, £2 bet and free drink with a metro ticket. I only won one race, but it meant I didn't loss to much money. I also found a lovely dress and petticoat. I have been after one for ages so was chuffed to bits to find one and it fitting. Now I need somewhere to wear it. x

James
James is repeating sounds now. He says cat and points to the correct thing. There was a dog on telly, I said dog he tried to copy. He also did the same with bed.
While it is sunny we had been going outside with him. Yesterday we blow up his paddling pool and put a little pit of water in it and his toys. Today, after work we played football, eveytime James got the ball he put it in the paddling pool. He is turning into a right cheeky monkey.

Weekend Part 3
James.
A few weeks before James turn one we had his first tottering steps. Up until this weekend, there hasn't been much happening with his walking, and prefers to crawl one one knee dragging his other leg behind him, he does this because it leaves a hand free to carry things. John and I have left him to it thinking he will get there in the end.
Ros came on Friday evening and James seemed to forgot his nerves in all the excitement at seeing her again and started walking across the room. He was showing off a lot that evening, giggling and ginning like mad. He is defiantly going to be a charmer when he is older.
Saturday he walked in the morning while we were getting ready to go to Burghley. He didn't walk much at Burghley but we were on grass and uneven stones, he was happy to walk when you held his hand. Marley however was walking everywhere picking up sticks. At Vic's party, again he was walking all over. I lost him at one point, I assumed someone on our table had him. I walked round the room once and couldn't seem him, then on the second time I found him on a ladies knee, she explain how he walked across the bar to her grinning. There seems to be no stopping him now.
Party weekend part 2
Vic's party was pretty good. It got better once it got going. To begin with the music was very loud and it was really difficult to hear people, which was a shame as there were people there who I haven't seem for a while so it would have been nice being about to have a conversation and hear each other. Maybe I'm getting really old. After a few drink and after the band had sorted out their sound better, things seemed to pick up. Had a good dance. James enjoyed walking round and being admired by everyone. Was slightly hungover the next day. Mum took James home when she left so we stayed a bit longer and was able to have a little bit of a lie in on Sunday
Sunday: Ros and I went to pick Vic up from her house then drove to the hall to tidy up. We then left to go for Sunday dinner , meeting Nick and Maryann at the Burton. It was nice to catch up with them as I hadn't seen them since their wedding. When back to mine for a coffee, Ros sorted out her stuff and headed home. I went top Vic to help unload her car then we both went to mums to have a coffee and cake and pick up James. James had had a lovely time in the garden digging and plant sunflower seed.

Party weekend
We have had a very bust weekend. Ros came down from Bristol on Friday evening. I cooked tea for us all. Later we played games. I wasn't very good at them. I think it might have been the amount of drink making me rubbish. Went to bed about 2:00. James woke up all up at 6:00 the next morning. John got up with him giving me and Ros a chance to have a bit longer in bed.
We had decided that we would go to Burghley house and meet Col, Jess, Em and Marley there and had a picnic in the gardens. We arrived about 11:00, just as we got out of the car Col turned up. When we left Boston it was really sunny and hot as we got nearer and nearer Burghley it got mistier and mistier and turned really cold. Joh insisted we had to drive with the window open beacuse he was hungover and feeling sick. At Burghley got a coffee and by the time we had it and sun came out again.
We started with the garden of suprises, which is a water area which you can play in. James loved it. We stripped him down to him baby vest and let him play. When he started to get cold we changed him warmed him and when and had our picnic. Marley and James loved all the open space to walk round in. Marley didn't seem to understand the idea of a picnic was to sit and eat, not walk all over people food. After another walk round the sculpture garden we left to get ready for Vic party.

Lincolnshire craft shows
Trying to find some some Lincolnshire events or village fairs in the area so I can had a small stall. Having trouble finding them. So if you know of any can you let me know.
Thanks
James
James has got a back tooth through, his first one. I must get him to the dentist soon. Been to look at another house tonight. We have viewed it before but decided against it. Then had a change of heart went back. John really likes it, I don't. The living area is a lot smaller then other ones we have been looking at.
John is back to feeding James outside because he doesn't have to clean up after him. Looking forward to the weekend. Going to a birthday party. There are going to be people we haven't seen for a while there. Also off to Burghley house on Saturday. Hopefully the weather will stay nice. x

Skegness
Went to Skeg today with mum. Had a good look round the shops and picked up a glass dish for Vic's birthday. He a look round the amusements and James went on a ride. Also had ice cream, which James didn't like. Which is odd because last year when he was really small and before he was eating proper food. We went to Buxton and had ice cream and he ate most of it. It was mint choc chip.
We was going to go swimming at South View but because it is now in season they wouldn't let us in. So we went to the garden centre had coffee and there was a sand pit so James had a play in there with his new bucket and spade.

Hair cut
OH dear, OH dear, OH dear, think I have made a very bad mistake. Rang on impulse to get an hair appointment today, got booked in. I am now thinking that maybe I should have thought the idea through a bit more. I have a very round bob, and as I have a very round face, so it doesn't really suit. John doesn't like it either. He commented that he likes my hair long. So do I, but it was in such a bad condition that the best idea was to chop it off. I might start to like it when I wash it myself and have a play.

Happy Mothers Day.
I've had a lovely Mothering Sunday, despite not getting my lie in this morning due to John incessant banging around. I got some beautiful flowers and chocolate from James, along with a card which he had scribbled in.
Mum called round this morning, we got her some flowers and I made her a necklace. I have just realised that I have forgotten to give her, her card. Whoops. Mum was off to Nannies and then to Col's for dinner.
We have Sunday dinner at the Red Lion in Partney, it was lovely. Then travelled to Lincoln to see Johns mums. James is so tired that he has gone to bed fully clothes and without his tea. x

Remembering
James can now say cat, or ca, but we know what he meets. He enjoys chasing them.
He enjoys dribbling water out of his mouth, extra delight in looking at me to see if I will tell him off.
Now we have had a few nice days we have been put him outside in the garden. He seem to enjoy eating mud and taking the label out of John plants and swapping them around.

Demo glass
This was my demo piece that wouldn't fuse on Thursday. Going to post it to Hol so she can show her class. X

Saturday
James has learn a new trick, we say where is the light and he points to it. He does kind of let it down by getting excited and pointing to everything and say 'na'.
Been to Grandmas and Dads this afternoon to catch up.
The demo of the kiln was a be of a disaster, I did a mini talk about it and answered lots of questions, but when it came down to fusing it they microwave didn't work. Tried for about 40mins until I gave up.

Sunny Shine and Glass
We have sun shine at last. Making most of it and trying to get as much washing done as possible. I'm trying to get all James old clothes washed, iron and stored ready for when we move. I can't believe how small his things were.
Have put James tractor and track outside and left the back door open. He is happy outside playing on the patio (grass is too wet). hopefully in the new house he will be able to do this more often as there are patio door from the kitchen onto the garden and there will be no shrubs and rose bushes. I have been making some glass this morning, ready for this evening. I'm off to Hol's for tea and I'm going to her stain glass class to show them the microwave kiln. Bit nervous about it, I'm not an expert and a lot of what I do in the kiln is trial and error. I'm having a go at using some of my new glass with I got at the weekend. It looks good so far.

Still thinking
Even though I have written about this in a while, I still think about the what ifs. Had a melt down when I got home from Marley Christening. I think I was worried about seeing all those people and got myself worked up so when I got home I just cried and cried.
James making me laugh.
John gave James a big teddy shaped biscuit. At first he wasn't sure what to make of it and just smiled not realising he could eat it. Then he took a nibble and started laughing. Found it very funny and kept giggling while munching on it. It was a little like an evil laugh.

James
John has found a new way of making James laugh. He pretends to be a dog and chases him. James pretends to crawl away but he isn't to sure John will follow him so he keeps checking.
Today James ate a spare rib, to odd to think of a 1 year old eating a rib off the bone, but the baby led weaning allows him to do it. He also have rice and curry. Hopefully he won't be picky as he grows. John gave him one of his peas out of his rice. He was so happy, it must be nice to find really small thing thrilling.

James' 1st birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JAMES. I can't believe it has been a year, it has gone so quickly. We have had a lovely day. James woke us up just gone 7 and he came into our bed and open one of his presents, a car. Then we went downstairs and shown him all the decorations, cards and presents. He first spotted the football and opened it without any help. Then he spotted the balloon from Marleys party yesterday and forgot all about his prezzie and played with his balloon and ball. After a birthday breakfast, I made some, cakes, scones and brownies. We opened a few more presents and cards. Mega blocks from Holly, another car and hammer thing from John and I, gear set from Dad. He had a early nap because he was so tired from yesterday. While he was asleep Vic popped round. After a birthday dinner with a cake and candle there was more playing. At 2:00 Terry and Grandma arrived. James had more presents some lovely clothes and bath toys. Katie, Rod and Colleen turn up a bit later and he got a sit and ride on tractor and a pop up tunnel. Grandad and Grandma Metcalf arrive later with lovely clothes and sweeties. Mum came with Nanny and he got some nice book. Auntie Kerry got him some smart clothes. Vic got him a very neat egg and solider set. He also got some money from both Great Grandma's, Vic, Mum and Auntie Janet.
We had a very nice tea and more cake. I made James a birthday cake. It wasn't my best effort, but it was ok. James played lots and figured out how to use all his presents. He is now tucked up in bed fast asleep. He will have another busy day tomorrow have a good look at all his toys and playing. I'm also about ready for bed, it has been a long day. x

Missing James
Feeling at a bit of a loose end at the moment. Mum is having James for a couple of days, we took him there this afternoon. Just rang her to see if he was alright. He had been to see a client of mums and had a lovely time playing the electric organ and playing with a fake cat! It is odd that he is not here and so quiet without him. I keep thinking that he is having a long nap.
I'm feeling poorly at the moment, have a horrid cold. Was hoping to have time with John and do lots of nice thing, but all I feel like is curling up with a hot water bottle.

1 year old.
I can't believe a year has gone by. Marley (nephew) is celebrating his 1st birthday today. It has come around so quickly. He is having a Christening and 1st birthday party on Sunday. We have got him a bottle of vintage port for his Christening present. He can drink it when he turns 18, that if there is any left as Peter, Col and Katie have a taste for port. We have got him a jigsaw for his present and some wooden story models.
In 5 days time it will be James turn. Think I will have to make a birthday cake. I'm think of a number 1, iced with stickers all over it. I'm not that great at decorating but I will have a go. We are having a small party with Grandparents. James has got some cars for his garage, a football, wooden story models and wooden ball thing you hit.

Woman in Black

Went to the pictures last night to see Woman in Black. I had read the book the previous week, so was interested to see what the film was like. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed. Perhaps I shouldn't have read the book first, because from the moment the film started it veered away from the original story. If fact it was so different that it could have had a different title and been a film in its own right. As for being a scary horror movie, it tended to reply on cheap things jumping out and dramatic music to add the element of fear. It should have relied on the story itself being creepy and keeping the tension. It was an OK film, but not fantastic. I would love to see the theatre production to see it take on the book.

Snow
Have had a bit better day to day. Spent some time this morning while James was having his morning nap to make some piece of jewellery using my microwave kiln. The other day I order a new glass cutter because the one I have is poor and I end up with lots of waste uneven glass. This is a Toyo make and is super, very easy to use. So I had a nice time playing with that and some glass I ordered. Made 2 pendants. After dinner John and I took James to the park on the swings, not for long as it was cold and started to snow. Than we got ours selves warm through with cake and tea. John wandered off home while James and I looked round the shops. James fell asleep in Boots. I only bought a new plastic mat to go under James high chair to catch all his food he throws.
x
Disappointed
When to the hospital yesterday for what I thought was the final scan. I was hoping that this would be the last thing and then I could move on. Not forget, just start to get back to normal and work. Unfortunately, this was not to be. The scan picked up that there was some tissue left. This get prove to be a problem if I get an infection. There was back to the options of pill, leave it or operation. I have chosen to leave it till next week and hopefully fingers crossed it will sort its self out. I have a scan booked for next Thursday at 10. If it hasn't gone by then I'm going to take to pill. I doesn't sound a good option but better than the operation. Feeling down still and angry about it, which John is getting.

New highchair
James is his new Fisher Price Ez clean. highchair. It is a little more snug then his other one and I'm hoping it lasts. It seems a lot easier to clean and hopefully it won't stain like the other one. It is a bit chunky when it is folded but that won't be a problem in the new house because it will be left up. X

Highchair and Mothercare.
Before the weekend John found that our highchair has a tear in it where the fabric pushes against the plastic as it is folded. I was so annoyed as we have only been using it 5 months and it was quite expensive. Email Mothercare twice and got no reply. However made a comment on facebook and they got in touch with me straight away. Rang me yesterday and ask if I would like another one. Chose a Fisher Price Easy Clean. It arrived today. Fantastic customer service. I was very impressed as I had set myself up into having to argue my case. Very pleased with the chair as well.
Not so good.
Not a great day today. Feeling quite low again. I helps me write things down here. I don't think I will every post these post though. Just here for my own outlet. Still sleeping poorly. John asked me to get up about 9:15 I wish he hadn't. I had an awful headache and James was screaming in his high chair while eating his breakfast. All I wanted to do was sleep and think.
I just want sometime on my own. I wanted to go into town this afternoon, but John was wanting to get some balloons ordered and I felt bad because him looking after James wouldn't allow him to do that. Then he wanted us all to go to B and Q. I just wanted to go and have a quiet coffee and a look round the shops.
I'm bored with the routine things. I get up, feed James, change him, dress him. Then we play or I watch him until nap time 10:30 then he get up and I change him and start dinner, forward by clearing up. Then more play/watching TV, then nap at 3:30. Forward by me cooking tea and feeding him, changing him, PJs on and a quick play before he goes to bed. Then it is telly on. That is my day and it has been for weeks. I'm so fed up. John does help tidy, wash up, washing clothes. But he thinks I just sit in the other room and watch TV. He doesn't seem to play with him as much now. Just sits on his computer and moans about how much he hasn't been able to do.

Tree
Have been feeling a little down the last few days. I haven't been sleeping very well, so have been going downstairs to read so I don't disturb John. I'm fine when I'm busy but feeling as if something is missing. Sounds odd. There is a baby I will never get to hold.
After I few tears tonight and John comforting me again. I mentioned to John that I would like a blossom tree in our new garden, thinking that would be a nice way to remember the baby. It gets to me that I will have nothing to remember him by. I didn't tell John that was why I wanted a tree thinking he would think I was being silly. Speaking him tonight he had a similar plan to plant a rose bush at the new house. I think I blossom would be more suitable as James can play under it and it looks beautiful in spring.
Just 2 more days to get through. Tomorrow was meant to be 12 week scan day. I day where I would be able to see my baby. Wednesday is now scan day just to check that everything has gone. Deep breath.
No longer a baby but a toddler (nearly).

James walked his first few wobbly steps today. Unfortunately John was in the dinning room so he missed it and I didn't yell him through in case he fell over. He was holding on to his bouncing zebra and I had his barking puppet dog and he wanted it, so very carefully he let go and took one step forward wobbled, steadied himself and then took another step and fell onto me and the dog.
Let in the afternoon he took a step just for Daddy in the dinning room. I have just been on the internet and bought him 2 pair of soft leather shoes to celebrate.

James
My little boy will soon be 1. Any ideas for a prezzie for him? I can't believe how quickly a year has gone by.
SNOW
SNOW!
I hate the snow, but feel that I ought to venture out in it to let James experience it wet and cold delights. John has already cleared 2 paths and been to Asda and it only 11:30. Me however have managed to get myself dressed and that is about it.
Right I had better hunt out the wellies and James waterproof.
PS. Rang Grandma this morning and while I was on the phone James sneaked into the kitchen cupboard and pour out all the dried pasta and was attempting to eat it. I felt bad taking him away from it because he was enjoying himself and seemed very pleased at his accomplishment. He even help clear away.

Microwave kiln

I'm really back into making glass pendants with my Hot Pot microwave kiln. I got it for Christmas two years ago and since having James it was relegated to a box for a while. Plus I thought it was getting old because it was taking nearly an hour to melt the glass, turns out I had melted the microwave. Now we have a new microwave and it take 7.5 minutes. Result! Just takes a bit longer to cool down.
Getting better at cutting glass as well now. I have bought a better glass cutter today in the hope that I won't make as much waste.
Will get some pictures on later.

Tuesday
Things seem too be getting easier. James has his first top tooth through this evening. He also has a terrible cold and chest infection. John took him to the doctors yesterday and he is now on antibiotics and lots of cuddles. John has booked us an appointment to go and see the house on the 11th Feb. We get to choose the décor for the house. James also has starting to feed himself with a spoon. It is very messy.
Trying to arrange a small birthday party for him. We are having it on his birthday (Monday) and have invited the Grandparent and Marley over for cake. Not having a big do as he won't remember it.

James
John was emptying the washing this morning. James took his sock off and put it into the empty machine. I guess it was dirty. He has a bit of a washing machine obsession, he can reach the dials and turn them. 11:00 tonight he had to have a bath. He was sick all over himself and his bed and had fallen asleep in it. Think it was the cheese omelette.

Finding it difficult
Everything is rather tough at the moment. I'm Ok most of the time, but sometimes I think about the new house or not having a new baby to hold and I get upset again. We were looking forward to this year, so many exciting things were going to happen. The weekend before we had at last found a house and on the Sunday put a reserve down. We had planned how to arrange the room for the new baby and the furniture we would have to get for James big boys room. Now we have an empty spare bed.
I thought I was doing so well with this pregnancy. With James the whole thing was rather scary as I didn't know what to expect. Throughout this one I have been relaxed and calm and was enjoying the experience. I was so looking forward to having a new addition to our family.
I had just started to tell people outside of the family about me being pregnant. I'm worried that someone who hasn't heard the news will ask me questions or congratulate me and I will have to explain that there is no baby. I don't feel I can do that without getting upset. Because of this I don't want to leave the house in case I see someone. We are meant to go and chose units for our new kitchen but at the moment I don't think I can. It should be an exciting time organising the new house, but the lady who is dealing with it all knows I'm pregnant and I can't face seeing her.
I'm not looking forward to seeing the empty spare room.
I think/hope that once the final scan is over on Wednesday we can draw a line under things. Not forget, just move on.
I only have one congratulations card to remember the baby by. I know it sounds silly calling it a baby when it is only a few weeks old. But I know it was a baby. I was mine and Johns and he would have been beautiful and blonde just like James.

Sad News
Unfortunately this baby wasn't to be. Experienced a small amount of bleeding on Friday, it slowly increased over the weekend. On Tuesday decided to get it checked out and go to A&E. Col babysat while John and I went it. They checked my blood then sent me home with a scan appointment for the following day.
Wednesday had the scan and was told that there was no baby. Apparently it happened very early on in the pregnancy and there was not a think I could have done differently. Naturally, we all were very upset and shocked. We were given a few options, I decided to let my body sort it out rather than pills and operations. Have a scan booked in for the 8th Feb to make sure everything has gone back to normal.
Mum was babysitting James. John rang dad and told him. Dad went to see Grandma and told her. Mum stayed until James had his dinner. We decided to go and see Col because Peter had gone to India and she would be on her own. Dad met us at Cols and after a few tears we went to the pub for a bit to eat. It was OK. Took our mind off things and James was entertained by Marley. Got back at 7:30. I rang Katie and told her. John rang his mum.
Had bad cramps today all morning, but by dinner time things seems to have calmed down. I pleased it hasn't taken very long. Hopefully the worse is over. Still teary but James is keeping us busy and John is doing a very good job of looking after me, but I think he needs looking after too. x

Happy baby
I am so lucky to have such a lovely family. James is mostly a happy, smiley baby. John is looking after both of us at the moment as I'm not feeling my best. Though I have been feeling better today. Been to see Holly today. Had a really good natter.
Feeling very content at the moment. 2012 has started well. Lots of exciting things to look forward to. Can't wait.
Thinking.
Was thinking about stuff earlier today. I must write things down before I forget them. Here I go there are random and not in order.
Despite a horrid start I loved feeding James during the night and early morning. It was just me, him and sometimes House. After feeding he would stretch his arms up and arch his back and curl himself round. We used to open the curtains and watch it get light and listen to the birds singing. Was very sad to give it all up but I needed to go back to work.
James, a few months again, say brum brum. Normally it is a happy noise, though if he is upset he says it in a very sad voice and it makes me smile.
Dreamt last night, that while I was asleep John had sanded down all the cupboards in the kitchen, then painted suns on them. He didn't like the sun design so waxed them all. I than had a go at him because we were moving and if he want to sand anything he should do the doors. Keep having weird dreams.
James can click his fingers.
This week he said Dad. He has said it only twice. Thing he has forgotten about it now. He is zooming round crawling now and pulling himself around the furniture. We are still waiting for top teeth. I think there are 4 coming through.

Blood Tests
Had the first lot of blood tests on Wednesday. I hate having them done, it isn't the pain of the needle it is the thought of the blood being drawn out. Makes me go all hot and bothered. The scan is all booked in on 7th Feb. Hopefully mum will look after James the night before, I don't fancy him being there and he is also getting to the stage where as soon as the buggy stops moving he wants to get out.
James have 4 top teeth nearly poking through, this might explain why he has gone off his food and is all grumpy and clingy. When to baby peep today, he likes it there and has a good explore and look at the other babies. I just have to be careful that he doesn't go for their eyes.
Feel very tired and sick. Also I've had headache for the last 4 days. Can't seem to get rid of it. I had forgot how much I don't like being pregnant and how tired it makes me. I'm also being very fussy about what I eat. Have gone off sweet things.

Christmas.
We have had a lovely Christmas. It has been very busy and hectic but really nice. Christmas morning John and I got up about 7:00 James woke up just after us. Father Christmas had been a left a few present in his stocking at the end of his bed. Because Mum was coming round we made sure he was bathed, feed and changed before he began opening his present. He didn't really
get the idea and ripping the paper off and needed a lot of help.
Santa had also left him presents under the tree and together we opened a bouncing Zebra and a car. Mum came round for a bit before she went to Cols. She got me a load of pans which was exactly want I wanted and a lovely jumper. James got a phone, activity table and a stacking hoop set. John got a dressing gown.
We met Dad, Janet and Paul, Grandma and Katie at the Fleece in Burgh for Christmas dinner. It was huge and I couldn't eat it all, John helped me.
At home we opened more prezzies. Spa days, telescopes, toy work benches loads things. We played games until late.
Boxing day we have lunch at Dads, then went to John dads for a few hours. It was nice to see them all, Jess and Harvey were there. We had tea at Dad, Col and Peter and Marley were there. It was nice to see them.
The next day we went to Johns mums. Had a lovely meal that she had cooked. Yesterday and today we have had a day off. Just chilling and playing with our presents. x

Week 6 (we think)
Had my first midwife appointment today, it was just the usual questions of heath and if you smoke/drink. Baby should be due on the 18th of August, James will be 1 half years old. Still too small to be a big brother. Feel a little guilty that he hasn't had long just on his own as an only child, but too late now.
Col and Peter plus family called round yesterday. Marley and James were entertaining themselves by pasting a ball to each other over a chair, both laughing. James finds anything Marley does funny and laughs at him.
Kate was here the night before. She has now got her leg back so is able to drive again. She guessed at me being pregnant because we told her we are looking for a new house (though not because I'm pregnant) and asked me. I started off by lying, but I'm no good at lying so had a hide my face. We told her in the end. Col and Peter also know. Mum we are telling tomorrow and Dad on Saturday, John dad on Monday and Johns mum on Tuesday. It is because we are seeing them on these days over Christmas and we wanted to tell them face to face.
I have forgotten how tiring being pregnant in the first months is. Keep have to have a nap and James isn't sleeping very well either. Won't be able to have nice food over Christmas again nor wine at New Year. Or on my birthday. And I have just bough a bottle of nice sherry as a treat to myself.
Nevermind. x

Busy Busy
We have been very busy getting ready for Christmas and working. The Christmas tree no longer looks pretty and tidy, as James likes to try and pull bauble baubles off so the bottom half of the tree has nothing on it.
James can now clap his hands. He also seems a lot more interested in things now. He like to roll his ball off the steps and see what happens.
We have started to look at houses ready to move. Have 2 appointments on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

Exciting news
Have very exciting news last night. Found out I'm pregnant again. I think I'm about 6 weeks gone, I'm not sure about exact dates, because I lost track. We will find out more when I have my fist scan. I haven't even had a chance to ring the doctor.
We told James last night. We sneaked up to his room and John whispered it into his ear while he was sleeping. I think he is far too young to be a big brother.
We are planning on tell the family at Christmas. I think I will be about 8 weeks, so it will be the same as last time.
Time to ring the Doctor.

James.
Saw James stand on his own without holding on for the first time today. John saw the other day when Mum was here. He was trying to attack the Christmas tree. We started by a even spread of all the trimmings. Now there is a empty gap around the bottom, as James has grabbed them and we have moved them higher. It looks a bit odd but never mind. Between us we have managed to broke on nice glass drop by having a tug of wag with it until the end snapped off.
He was late going to bed today. I put him down and gave him some milk and was reading him Enid Blyton, when he suddenly stood up and throw up everywhere. Yelled to John to help me. Took him out of the cot to give him a cuddle and he did it again all over the floor. While I was still cuddling him he did it again all over me. Poor little mit. When we finally got sorted and cleaned up, it was getting on for 10 O'clock. Hope he feel better tomorrow.

Burghley House.
Have a lovely day today. We went to Burghley House Christmas Market. It was worth the visit. I didn't buy anything but it was nice to look round. x

Shopping.
Went Christmas shopping in Peterborough yesterday, I haven't been there for years, the decorations were stunning.
We went with Mum, Marley and James. Had a lovely time and the boys were on best behaviour. They are so cute together chatting away in the car and playing nicely in their pushchairs. I didn't get much shopping done. Though I have a few ideas which I will look up on the net when I get home.
We have had a few rough nights with James recently. I think he is teething. Luckily John gets up with him and try to settle him down. Hopefully he won't be as bad tonight.

Facebook.
Hi.
I'm obsessed with facebook. This is why I haven't put much on my blog and everything I put on my blog i have already said on facebook.
School is doing my nut in. It is all about the strike. The kids are fine. It just seems as if I don't have any free time. I'm always planning, marking and sorting stuff. I guess it comes with the job.

Christmas decoration are up.
We have finally got our tree up. The plan was to do it last Friday, but unfortunatly Katies managed to get stuck in a hole. She was walking on the pavement in Hamton and stepped into a water board hole. The cover wasn't on it. She managed to get her foot trapped ballerina style and couldn't get it out. Que the police, firebrigade and an ambulance. Thankfully they got her out, put her foot was a mess and so she went to hospital. We all met her there. Hence why the tree had to wait. She is at dads now, her leg is all strapped up and she can't put any weight in it.
So the Christmas tree went up on Monday. James helped, then stopped for tea and after he went to bed we finished it off. We were worried about he grabbing and pulling it over but so far he has been fine. He doesn't like us tell him no. He just cries at us. He ought to start getting use to it as he will be hearing it for many years. X

London.
We have just been for a lovely weekend away in London. I was worried about taking James on the tube but we managed fine. Everyone was really friendly and loads of people offered to help us. We went to the science museam first, then walked for miles to harrods. Then wandered to the Eye and had a ride. By this time it was night, but we could still see all the landmarks lit up.
On Saturday we went to convent gardens, then walked round in circles for a while. Decided that I wanted to go to Tower hill and catch the dockland light railway to see how the Olympics building was getting on. Unfortunatly it was closed when we arrived. We did manage to see part of the Lord Majors parade. We stayed and watched the fireworks. James enjoyed them. A nice lady told me a had the cutest baby.
We got back about 11, shattered.
Yesterday we met Janet, Paul, Katies, Rod and Dad for Sunday dinner. It was nice to catch up. James was restless though. X

Chatsworth House
Last Sunday we enjoyed a lovely day at Chatworths House. It was a treat for my Mum as her Birthday was on Tuesday.
Had a lovely day, we went round the house which was lovely, but it was the gardens which were most stunning. I have never been to Chatsworth in Autumn and was amazed to find the gardens so beautiful. I tried to take some photos but they don't do the garden justice.

Getting sorted.
At last we have a washing machine. Picked it up on Sunday from Holly's. Have spend the last 2 days trying to catch up with all the washing, it seems to be everywhere. I have also started to paint the kitchen. It was originally white but because we have half a tin left, it is now magnolia. We had a very mouldy wall from where the washing machine was so have covered it.
Went shopping on Tuesday in Lincoln. John's mum was kind enough to look after James while we went into town. Had a lovely day.

Weekend.
Just have a stonking weekend. Mum had James on Friday and Saturday, so John and I took advantage and when out for something to eat. I ordered steak for the first time, it was yummy. On Saturday when the hangover had disappeared I set off for Hollys, where she cooked a lovely tea, then plaed poker and games in the evening. It was nice to catch up. Lou, Ros, Shel and Vic were all there.
On the way back I called in at Janets and Pauls, it was the first time I have seen Paul since his illness. He looked really well. They were both very chatty.
Pick up the washing machine from Holly and James from mum and was back in time to curl up with John for Downton Abbey.

Scary.
James gave us a fright on Friday. He started insane crying when john was trying to change him, then he started to choke. When I went into the room he was in johns arms really pale and cold and drifting in and out, so we called an ambulance. By the time they arrived James was crawling around. He was still.looking peaky so they took him to hospital I followed in the car. We think there might have been some food left in his mouth from his tea the night before. Worried us. Every thing is fine how, keeping an extra eye on him.
We had noticed that he has a tooth poking through now, that might explain the restless nights.

Washing machine.
Washing machine has packed up so have been at mums today using hers. Took James with me, and mum is keeping him there tonight. We had cream cakes with tea, Mum gave some of her to James which he quite happily ate. She ate the cake so there was a tiny bit of pasty and a lot of cream. James dropped something on the floor as she bend down to pick it up he grabbed hold of her cake and stuffed it all in his mouth. I think is might be a magician or a pick pocket when he gets older.
Looking forward to having a lie in and a lovely Sunday dinner with John tomorrow. Hope he is good for her tonight. x

Friday
Has had a lovely day today. James and I went to baby peep and had a lovely time playing. He was a bit wary at first and stuck close by me, I think it was the noise. It didn't take him long before he was exploring all over and pinching all the other children toys. He also has had his first kiss. We were all in a circle and a girl or James age began crawling toward the middle (she made the first move) he went towards her (met over a crowded room) they met in the middle and gave each other a kiss. At least he did try and scratch her eyes out, which is what he normally tries to do.
Then this afternoon Col, Marley and Shel came for tea. James and Marley played nicely each wanting what the other had. Col had James in fits of giggles by making popping noises. Marley very excited by a light up balloon. I made a lovely tea of cottage pie.
Going to mums tomorrow as our washing machine has packed in and the clothes are starting to pile up. I think she s going to have James over night. Not sure she know what she is letting herself in for because this week he has been a nightmare and getting up and wanting to play at 5:30 every morning. We are all shattered.

James.
I wasn't sure where to write this post. I'm worried that I will forget the little things about James when he was a baby. So I thought I would write a post to help me remember.
The fact that it was 2 weeks before I figured out that after James had fallen asleep on me after a feed, that I could put him down in his mosses basket. I was worried that I would wake him up, so used to sit with him on the sofa not moving, until I began ache.
The way after I had feed him he would need winding and if he had fallen asleep he would curl himself around my arm like a little hedgehog.
If he wanted feed he would snuffle like a pig on my chest, like a pig finding truffles (little truffle pig).
His first proper food was a rusk in milk, which he had at 4 months. Katie feed him his first banana because I hate bananas, it is one of his favourites now. He first yoghurt was strawberry and he had it at a Roman fort on Hadrians wall.
When he was 6 months old Colleen tried to juggle with him and dropped him on his head. It gave him a black eye.
Up until he was four months old he growled a lot.
After a fed even if he was asleep, when he was finished he would stretch he little arms and curl his legs into an S shape.
Up until 4 months every time he was winded after a feed he was sick everywhere. Not only did we carry spare clothes for James around with us, but also spare for John and I. We use to cover all the surrounding surfaces with muslim cloths, then one under his neck, plus a bid. You never saw the nice clothes he was wearing because he had a bib on. At 4 months we started to fed him, use a small spoonful of rusk and milk after that the being sick stopped and so did the whining. I guess he either had a milk colic or he was hungry all the time.
The way it took us a while to pluck up the nerve to bath him when we first got him home. He had a bath at the hospital and screamed all the way through it. We had a go about 2 weeks after we got him home. We did the temperature that is recommended, still he screamed. The next bath we did we ran the water warmer and he loved it and has loved water every since.
Due to me and James having to stop an extra night in the hospital we ran out of baby clothes. John had to go to Asda and get some before he visited us. He also bought a blue blanket.
Before he was crawling, he used to commando shuffle backwards. John and I would leave the room for a few minutes and when we return we would find him sat up in a different place. We knew he could get about but didn't realise he could sit himself up. Was quite a while before we caught him doing it.
This is all I can think off at the moment.
Off to Bristol this weekend for wine tasting.

This week I have manly been...
Have a bit of a busy week. To my suprise I have managed to get all 10 return to work day on school. I even having to turn work down. So things are looking good for October.
We have all been bunged up with colds. James seemed to have got it the worst and is keeping us awake most of the night. Luckly John gets up to him a lot.
Have started Christmas shopping. The we are not going to get James a lot because he won't remember, has gone out of the window. He would probably be just as happy with a new water cup, a cardboard tube and a piece of cheese.
Went to Stanford book fair yesterday, but it was rubbish. It was nice seeing katie. We had lunch and a wonder around, but didn't really like the place and it was a nightmare to get parked.
Went to see Jane Eyre with mum. It was ok. Quite true to the book. It seemed really slow but then the book was. I prefer Jane Austin, there is more humour.

General stuff.
Been busy working this week. It is nice to be back. James has started to crawl backwards this week. He looks a bit like a seal out of water. But he is getting better. He is being a bit of a pain at night, because he can wiggle and move around he goes and explores his cot. He ends up stuck at one end telling his head off. Just watching Holby, someone always falls over outside the hospital.

School.

Had a fab first day. It was in a lovely little school. Pleased it is over with as now I know that I'm ready to go back and haven't forgotten how to do it. Spent this morning ringing a few school to tell them that I am back. I also need to go into town today and go to the bank, boots and it do a bit of shopping.

First day of school.
OH Gosh.
Feeling a little nervous today as it is my first day back at school. I sound like I'm 5 years old. I have new trousers which are a rubbish fit, but the only ones I could find, and new shoes which I know are going to give me a blister. I can feel myself getting tense. I have already shouted at John for whistling, but it really wasn't necessary.
At least I'm starting slow an afternoon only. Apparently I'm teaching netball and taking them swimming. Have been on the internet this morning trying to remember how to play netball. Hope the school has a court and balls.
A cup of coffee I think to calm the nerve then off.
Wish me luck.

Katies birthday
Had Katies birthday party last night. We were having a bbq at dads but unfortunatly the rain meant we had to have it in the shed. It was a good night. Ros came down so did Lou. Dad smoked us all out by putting the fire pit in the shed. James went home with mum. Everyone slept in tents in the garden. Spent today recovering. X

Shattered.
Right in a few minutes I'm off to bed. I thought I would write a post first. I'm finding it quite difficult to think of thing to write about. This tells me that I need to start doing more exciting stuff. Tonight for example I played scrabble with John and won. In fact he hasn't beat me yet. I also won at croquet as well.
I have booked a campsite for next weekend for Col, Peter and Vic. We are going to Yorkshire and heading down gaping gill cave system. Though I don't think I will be going as someone need to look after the babies. But I'm defiantly looking forward to getting away for a few days. It is going to cramped in our tent though. As it is a two man tent and there are three of us.
Will take lots of photos to put on here.

Smell.
Not sure why people sniff babies and say they like the smell. James smells of sour milk combined with an after smell of talc. Yuck. Also is is half 12 and he has managed to do the trebble (sick, poo and wee). Daddys turn to sort him out next. Off to bed. Night.

Birthday.
Johns birthday today. Lots and presents and cake.

Northern Lights
Apparently the Northern lights were visible last night as far down as Kendal. It is one of those things I would love to see. Put unfortunately I live in a town and therefore visability is rubbish. John is going to keep an eye on reports on twitter tonight and if it looks that there might be a chance of seeing them we might head to somewhere dark to check it out.

HOT HOT HOT
Gosh it is hot. I love this kind of weather. Going to go in the garden in a minute after I've uploaded some photos on to facebook. James is asleep so I'm going to make the most of it and have a cup of tea and finish the book I'm reading.
Have been busy today. I have...
Made a new pendant (though it was in the microwave for slightly too long and it now the best I have done).
Washed up.
Teaked the garden furniture.
Nearly unpacked the suitcase from the weekend.
Hoed the front garden.
Busy Busy.

Jewellery show
I have got another jewellery craft show on Sunday at the Embassy Centre in Skegness. Looking forward to it, hopefully there will be lots of people.
The last 3 shows have been really good. So good, I need to make some new pieces before Sunday. I made on today using my glass kit. Unfortunately it has an rough side so that is one for me to keep.

Bewilderwood
Had a fantastic, manic few days. Shel is back from Dubai and has been stopping at Col's the week. So have been spending time with them. Thursday we all had a meal at pizza hut. Holly, Ben and Vic came along. Friday James and I went to Hunstanton. James is like me he loves the sea and kept squealing at it in delight. He had a paddle. Felt like a bad mother as he got really cold on the beach.
On Saturday we went to Bewilderwood, which is near Wroham in Norfolk. It is like a load of tree house with rope bridges and swings, slide and zip wires you can play on. Is was really good. James went on a baby zip wire and the swings.
It was a shame john missed it. He was away caving in yorkshire. He got back yesterday all covered in bites. He seems to attract the bugs.

Hurray. Got a new phone for my birthday and have just figured out it can do Blogger. This should make it even easier to post. No excuses now.
Had a busy day today. The been babysitting Marley while Col and Em have been at the pictures to see Harry Potter. It is an easy job, allhe has done is sleep. Maybe I should do this for a living and become a childminder.

Breastfeeding.
While I was pregnant it was drummed into us that you must breastfeed, you must breastfeed. I know that it is the best think for the baby, which is why I felt so under pressure to continue to try and breastfeed James even though James wasn't get enough and I was getting very upset and struggling with it.
A nurse came round a week after James was born. She weighted him and said that because he had lost of much weight we need to go back into hospital. Naturally I was devastated. I had been trying so hard to get the feed right. I was sore and it was so painful it brought tears to my eyes. I was also very upset because I was finding it so difficult especially as Col and Marley seem to be coping.
After crying at the nurse, she rang the hospital and asked their advice. I didn't mind if I had to take James in every day to be checked out, I didn't want to stay over night. I would have no sleep in the wards and no support from John to help me. The nurse said she would come round again in a few days and check him out. Before she left she showed me again how to feed him. I was determined that we would not go into the hospital, even if it meant going on to formula. I sent John out to get some just in case. I watch a you tube video which showed, with a real baby how I should be feeding him it was different to the hospital advice. I used a lot of pillows to support him weight and held how I found it comfortable not how the nurse showed me. Eventually we managed. I think it took about 3 weeks for us both to be completely happy about it and for the pain to wear off. Even then 4 months in a blocked up and the whole pain thing began again. I can completely understand why people use formula and I think if it wasn't for Col and Marley I would have given in ages before hand, but because they was able to do it I was determined that I could.
Doing well
Was meant to go swimming today with Col, but money is a bit tight this month as there is lots of stuff I want to do so something have to give way.
John brought a new tent yesterday in preparation for his solo trip to Yorkshire caving. Hopefully he will go this weekend, if the weather is nice.

Going to try hard.
From now on I'm going to try hard and write this thing at least 3 times a week. I think it will be a good way to remember thing, 1, because I have still got baby brain and 2, it is like a diary and would be nice to remember important thing that have happened. So once again this is a catch up post. I will try and keep it short.
Baby was born on the 20th Feb 2011. He was 8lb 15oz and born at 01:04 in the morning. Waters broke at 09:00 on the Saturday morning. Lots of pain the whole thing wasn't good. Drug do not help. We named him James George Metcalf.
He is now 22 weeks today. He was a miserable thing to begin with. He had upset tummy until he was about 17weeks. But he is now very smiley and lovely. Today he was on his tummy and managed to move to get a toy. I wouldn't call it crawling but it is getting there.
Swimming with him and Marly tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Update.
It has been so long since I have written anything in the blog. Pregnant is still going well. Defiantly getting larger, most of my clothes don't fit any more. I'm in week 22 now, so instead of counting up was are going to start counting down, so 18 weeks to go. Still have so much to organise. Spare room still needs emptying and painting. We have managed to get a second hand cot, door bouncer, bouncy seat, travel cot and a pushchair. I just wish we could get a move on with the spare room.
Col and Peter got married a few weeks ago. A lovely weekend, with a super band called the Hound dogs. Will put some pictures on in a bit. They went on Honeymoon to Cuba, it looks a nice place to visit. It was also nice to see people I haven't seen in ages Dave, Gray Ros.
We have managed to book a week away in half term. Going to Skye, should be lovely and quiet.

Cake.
Had a go at making a Barbie cake for Katies 25th Birthday. Was really impressed with the way it turn out, considering I was in a rush. It was meant to be a surprise but she noticed that there was a pair of Barbie legs on the table and guessed. Shame the cake was a bit heavy.

4 months today.
Well we have reach the 4 month stage. I have started to get a bump now and have brought some maternity clothes, which are dead comfy. In the book it says that baby should now begin to hear and react to light. John sometimes reads to him. Last night I was shining a bright torch at him to seem if I would feel him move. there wasn't any reaction, I think it is still too early. Also today played it some calming music though speakers, again no reaction. Think maybe I'm annoying it, I wouldn't like bright light and loud music being played if I'm trying to have a kip.
I have been very busy today, being creative. I will put a picture on next time as it is a surprise for someone.
School holidays are nearly over, which is good because I'm bored. I like working, and earning money. They messed up my pay this month, so that needs sorting out.
Right I'm being told to bring the washing in, so I have better go.

Here hoping the weather gets better.
We are off away for a few days on Saturday. It is Nick and Maryann's wedding. Looking forward to see everyone. It is always nice to get dressed up and have a boogie. The wedding is in Yorkshire and as it is a bit far away we are going to stop a night in a travel lodge, then have a few days camping. Should be good. Hopefully we will have a chance to go to York. I love York, it is a lovely city. Might need to pack a rain mac as it is chucking it down here.
Have Col and family coming round tonight we are meant to be going bowling. I haven't been for years. I hope they hurry up I'm hungry.
According to the Doc I'm 14 weeks on Friday and at last I have a bump, only a little one and I think most if it is podge. My nice jeans are considerably tighter now. I went into town yesterday and brought a few maternity clothes, some cheap tops and a pair of jeans. Will need some black trousers for when I go back to work in a few weeks. I don't want to buy too much stuff.

12 week and 5 days (apparently).
John and I have been to the hospital today for the first scan. I was very nervous about it. Worried that I would get there and I would be empty and they would think I have made it all up. But no. I am defiantly pregnant. There is was on the screen, arms waving around like it was trying to catch flies. He waved at John, then started to suck its thumb. We got some good pictures. I had bloods taken as well. That didn't got so good. I was very wobbly, got myself worked up and upset. It was a good job John was there. Made my feel ill as well. Next midwife appointment is in 3 weeks, which I need to book. Then next scan is on the 23rd Sept.
We were also given a new due date. The 10th of August. It is going to be a busy week, as Col is due on the 8th.

11 weeks (nearly)
It won't be long before I will up load these posts I have been writing. All close family and friends now know. Just waiting until my scan on the 3rd and then everyone else will find out. Still no sign of a bump. Itching to buy things for him. There is a lovely moses basket on Ebay, and I keep looking at cots and pushchairs on there too. Will have to sit tight a little longer. I'm still sanding down dorrs at the moment. I wish I hadn't started. They need to be finished and painted by the 14th Aug because that is when we get the new carpets in. I still have a door and half to go and the cupboards to do. John is helping me. Then when that is done we are going to start on the spare room and paint it ready for Feb.

9 Weeks.
Have been busy this week. Have started to tell people about the pregnancy. Went to Holly's on Wednesday and had tea with her. Told her. This week I'm going to tell Vicky. Today it is the turn of John's Mum, so we are off to Lincoln in a moment. Tomorrow after school we are going to see John's Dad to tell them know. Also need to tell Nick and Ros.
I seem to feeling better and fancying food now. I was hungry yesterday for the first time in weeks. John is still doing a super job of looking after me. He has booked a trip on a boat with a meal for Tuesday. He has also started to clear out the shed in the garden so we have more room to put stuff in.
I have my first really panic yesterday morning. I have had a really bad headache for the last couple of days. For my birthday Col got my a tiara making course in Grantham. I was feeling so poorly and rotten that I completely broke down. Then everything came out, the spare room, decorating, money, job and panic set in. It took lots of tissues and reassurance before I got going again. Anyway, I went to the class and it was super, I made 2 lovely tiaras.
I have also gone off chocolate. got masses for my birthday and don't seem to fancy any at the moment.
Went to the midwife, got myself all worked up about the blood draining. Only for her to say that it will be done in the hospital on the scan visit. The appointment was just filling out forms. The Scan appointment is on the 3rd August, I will be 12 weeks by then.

Saturday Surprises.
Saturday was a very odd day. Got a call from Col asking if she could come round for a coffee. As soon as she popped in and sat on the sofa she burst out saying 'I'm pregnant!'
Arse, well I couldn't be out done by the younger sis so I told her I was pregnant as well. Katie then arrives. She already knew about Col. So I told her my news and she didn't believe me and thought I was winding her up. Turns out Col is around 2 months as well, thought she doesn't know precise dates yet and won't until her scan. She also has an appointment with the midwife on Friday at 10:00, mine is at 9:00. She will also have the baby at Pilgrim hospital. I'm 2 months last Monday. She bang goes John and I not telling everyone till 12 weeks. Discussed it with John and thought we might as well tell everyone else.
Went round to Mums first and told her, then Dad, and from there rang Janet. Then nipped in to Grandmas. I very busy and unexpected day. Since then I have told Lou and I'm off to Hols tomorrow to tell her. Then on Sunday to Johns mum and on Monday evening Johns dad. Looking forward to people pampering me now they know, thought I will have to share it with Col.
At the moment baby is around 2.2cms and looks like a large cashew nut. Still not feeling sick, but neither is Col and Mum said she wasn't that sick when she has us, so maybe it runs in the family. Still feeling tired a great deal. I don't help myself by going to bed at a decent time. Anyway. I won't be long now until these posts are published, not that most people know.

Week 7
I can't believe I'm 7 weeks pregnant. I don't know whether it is because I expecting and therefore notice it more, but everyone seems to talking babies, in telly, at work and family. Very odd.
Still no morning sickness, I know I should think it a blessing but it would be nice to have some so I know he is OK.
I am so tired and exhausted all the time. I wake up and I'm still tired, I get home from work and need to go straight to bed to recover. Headaches seem to have stopped this might be because I am trying to drink lots more water.
John say that baby is going to look like me but have his intelligence, does this mean he thinks I'm thick?

Birthday Bash part 2.
Turns out not drinking didn't spoil my night at all. In fact I meant I remember everything and felt ok in the morning while other were being rather sick. I had a wicked time, though I can't help thinking that next years birthday I will be in a very different situation.

Birthday Bash
Last night was my big 30 birthday bash. BBQ with friend and family and Dad's house. Think about 40 people were there. Loved it. It was ace. Very chilled. Holly brought her fire pit. So sat round until 3:30am talking, then camped in the garden. Morning was lots of bacon buttys, cake and water. Most random part of the night. Katie not sleeping in the table but outside in a hammock. Most drunk person award goes to Holly, as does the most hungover.
Very tired now even though I've had an afternoon nap. Also have red legs.

First Doctor appointment.
Really nervous about it. I have been in school all day, so had to rush home, then rush out again. Probably for the best as I didn't have long to think about it. John finished work early to come with me, he is going to come to them all. The Doctor was lovely, very young and friendly. He had a young family and was telling us what happened to his wife. Went through the dos and don'ts, I had already read about most of it. He was very congratulatory, which was lovely because we haven't told anyone yet.
The only question we had was that I have been suffering for migraines and I didn't know what medication to take. The only think that works is a cold compress and a dark room and try to sleep through it. Still haven't got morning sickness yet. I have lost my appetite, which is a pain for John as he doesn't get fed. Then all of a sudden it comes back and I need a certain food, normal something dry.
We have also booked in an appointment at the midwife. It is on the 9th July. It will be the blood tests. Explained to the doctor that I don't really do needles and he said that if I have any problems to see him and he would take the blood.
So we are all happy. It is nice to know that Bean Baby is acutely there and I haven't just made him up. Scan will be in week 11 or 12. Can't wait to see him and make it seem all real. Will also give us something to some people when we tell them.

Week 6
Hurray.
We are into week 6. Month and half pregnant. This week have finally got the Doctors appointment on Thursday. Looking forward to someone confirming I am pregnant, because even though I feel tired and a little bit sick, there has been not other symptoms. The weekend away was interesting. Was all the time thinking that Dad would realise that I wasn't drinking and guess why. Still have an urge to tell everyone. Still only 6 weeks to go.
Have my birthday to get through next. That should be easy because everyone is drinking and therefore won't notice that I'm not.
Colleen and Katie keeps on about wanting to go to Pleasure Island for a day trip. Again I won't be able to go on the big rough rides. Colleen wants to book her hen party and go to Go Ape, which I won't be able to do. Rubbish.
I ate scampi today by mistake. I knew it was scampi, but I always thought scampi was fish. Whoops. John was eating melted Camembert yesterday. I also have to change my menu for Colleen's wedding.
But apart from me moaning about all the things I can't do or eat. I'm still excited and fascinated about it all. The baby is now the size of a large bean, around 1.2cm. We have already decided not to find out what sex it is. I'm starting to say name ideas to John. The decision is that he chooses the boys name and I get to choose the girls but we both have to agree. I have 2 that stand out already but I'm not telling just yet.

Week 5
Week 5 and I think everything is OK. I haven't got an appointment with the Doctor until next week. Apparently this is the worst week for a miscarriage. Fingers crossed. Started reading the pregnancy book at the back. It got to scary and gory, so I'm just going to read one week in front at the moment. One step at a time.
Katie was round on Saturday, she brought loads of wine. I brought grape juice and fizzy pink stuff. Me and John swapped glasses. Katie mentioned the fact the wine looked different. Good job she put lemonade in hers. She also keeps patting my belly, says she can feel it kicking. Little does she know. She also brought up the conversation at Dads about how he would never have Grandchildren. Hee Hee.
Have worked out baby should be due on the 17th Feb 2011. Only 7 weeks till I can share the news. Not sure how to do it yet.
Sam
PS. Have gone off coffee can't seem to stand the smell and now drinking tea. Also finding it difficult at the moment to cut out caffeine. Feeling tired as well but that is probably due to work for the last 2 weeks.

OMG
Found out 2 days ago I'm pregnant. We're really pleased about it, though I think it still hasn't sunk in yet. John seems calmer then me. I'm in a tizz. Have gone and bought a baby book and folic acid. Also have booked a doctors appointment which is on the 24th June. I have learnt that the baby is the size and shape of a grain of rice and that is has already started to develop a spine and brain. Already panicking about not being able get in and out of the bath, but the biggest fear is BLOOD TESTS.
The most difficult thing is not to race round telling everyone our news. I was never any good at secrets. We have to wait until 12 weeks. At the moment I'm 4 weeks and 5 days, so there is a long way to go.
I have also realised that I won't be about to drink of 9 months. The last glass of wine I have was really nasty, I wish I had known it was going to be my last because I would have drank something good. Tonight I have Katie round. She has just lost her job in Brighton and is going round to get to drown her sorrows with me. So John and I have come up with a plan, the same plan with be enforced on my birthday BBQ. We are going to stock up on Shloer and grape juice. John is going to pretend to drink it, I will pretend to drink wine and we are going to do a sneaky swap. hopefully Katie will be a few glasses ahead of me to realise.
